In this paper, Dr Zubaida Haque highlights the critical link between immigration and multi ethnic communities, as well as the clear overlap between race equality and immigration concerns.

According to previous research, it is not the case that ethnic diversity within neighbourhoods is causing tensions in the UK instead it is the lack of adequate policies to help manage integration.

The report finds that for countries to achieve a well-managed immigration scheme, specific provisions are needed to integrate new migrants. This is because successful integration is a key determinant in creating flourishing multi-ethnic communities.
