Emerging Scholars Forum
Runnymede launched the Emerging Scholars Forum in 2012. Sitting alongside the Academic Forum, it brings together 30 of the UK’s brightest and most promising early-career academics working on race.
The Forum is made up of Phd students and lecturers from a range of fields, from religion to refugees, migration to education, sport to cities.
The Forum is chaired by Kjartan Sveinsson. Kjartan is a Sociology PhD student at the London School of Economics, exploring the trajectories and experiences of migration amongst Ghanaian doctors in the NHS. He has previously conducted research on young adult offenders for London Probation, and managed Runnymede’s criminal justice programme in his role as Senior Research and Policy Analyst.
His most recent publications include Criminal Justice v Racial Justice: Minority Ethnic Overrepresentation in the Criminal Justice System and Who Cares about the White Working Class?
We are now seeking to recruit more scholars from the Arts and Humanities disciplines across the UK. If you are interested in joining the Emerging Scholars Forum, please contact Kjartan to find out how to apply.
