Video ART Postcards

A joint initiative between Manifesta and Runnymede Trust

Teenagers from the London Borough of Newham made short films as part of a video project.

Assisted by video artists and historians, the young people uncovered sites related to historical racism and anti-racism in the West India Docks area of London.

They then expressed their view of this history and heritage using digital media and their imaginations. Each participant produced a one-minute film, or 'video art postcard', informed by their learning.

The videos are available to view on our YouTube channel.

This project is also featured on the BBC London website.
