18 November 2015

A ‘Scottish Approach’ to Race Equality?

Directions in Policy and Identity

This one day event brings together race equality stakeholders, researchers and practitioners in Scotland. The objectives for the day are three-fold:

 Firstly, to take stock of existing activities across different sectors of Scottish society. To this end speakers and participants are asked to tell the story of how their organisations have understood the implications - and where appro-priate the delivery – of existing race equality approaches in Scotland.

 Secondly, speakers are asked to reflect on what the successes and obstacles for prevailing race equality approaches have been, spanning procedural issues to being able to measure outcomes.

ï‚· Thirdly, the day aims to identify gaps in data and other knowledge that pre-vent a full and proper account race equality in Scotland, and highlight what additional evidence is needed to support the development of race equality policy in Scotland.
