Join us for this seminar chaired by local MP David Lammy, which will highlight relevant research on the issues of poverty and inequality facing black and minority ethnic (BME) groups and some of the specific challenges in Haringey.
Research shows that Haringey is the capital’s most divided borough. Social and economic inequality widens, public spending falls, property prices are rising and many local people remain stuck in low paid and insecure jobs. This, within a diminished public infrastructure that impacts more heavily on our poorer neighbourhoods, there is a real concern that some communities are getting left behind in the redevelopment of ‘deprived areas’, such as Tottenham.
We are holding the event in partnership with the Selby Centre and BTEG.
