UK Race & Europe Network
Runnymede is currently looking for the support of an intern to work on a variety of projects looking at racism and integration from an international perspective.
One of the projects the intern would be involved in is UKREN, the UK Race & Europe Network, which is based at Runnymede. UKREN is a network of UK race equality organisations which we aim to keep informed of the latest European developments in race relations. Read more about UKREN
The other projects focus more specifically on what works in policy and practice when it comes to migrant integration, and how this compares to international good practice on the issue.
This internship would be ideal for someone with a keen interest in European policy on anti-racism and discrimination, as well as an enthusiasm for migration and integration issues.
Main tasks / skills required:
- Writing the UKREN newsletter on developments relating to race and discrimination in Europe
- Boosting UKREN membership and updating the membership database
- Researching and writing content for website
- Conducting desk-based research on a range of policy areas
- Helping to organise events such as seminars and conferences
- Promotion of our work using social media tools such as twitter
- Good general admin and organisational skills
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Relevant post-graduate qualification desirable
