End Racism This Generation

Legacy

The three year campiagn is designed to be both responsive to need and sustainable. Below we set out the legacy of the campaign for activity to promote race equality over the next generation

Gather
  • We will have engaged over 50,000 individuals and 15,000 organisations ina ction to end racism in a generation
  • An online action-oriented platform, and a regularly updated news and comment platform reaching over 300,000 unique visitors each year
  • We will be able to engage this audience in crowd-funding for initiatives to eliminate racism - seeking to raise in excess of £200,000 a year from individuals and businesses
Inspire
  • We will have generated a significant amount of content - films, briefings, archived online events, case studies - focused on race equality, that can be used in classrooms, for professional development, and for ongoing campaigning
  • We aim to use the campiagn to inspire giving by businesses and individuals - either of time or money - in recognition of one of the key messages of the campaign that eliminating racism is possible
Inform
  • We will have a database of information relating to social policy areas, as well as regions that will remain accessible after the end of the campaign period
  • We will have established feedback loops that enable information to be updated and kept relevant by the site members and partner organisations
Connect
  • We will have created connections between organisations and individuals that will last beyond the campaign. We will signpost participants to organisations to encourage volunteering and engagement with new campaigns
  • We will have constructed a significant database with detailed CRM data that will enable us to target relevant information and continue to engage participants
  • Having worked successfully more closely together three race equality organisations decide to merge
Ideas
  • The focus on engaging young people throughout the campaign will bring fresh ideas and experiences to efforts to eliminate racism and provide a new generation of leaders
  • We will conduct a survey of participants in order to help us set priorities for the next period, thereby grounding the future direction of initiatives to eliminate racism in the needs and motivations of a broad audience of activists
Tools
  • We will have a collection of tools and resources available in the archived website for use beyond the campaign period
  • We will have a better understanding of what works in changing policy and practice, and the evaluation of the impact of the campaign will be shared with partner organisations and participants to improve practice further
Focus
  • New coalitions for action will have been formed that will have a life beyond the campaign period
  • We will have a clearer undersdtanding of priorities for change among the participants
Target
  • New networks with decision makers will have been established
  • More effective working with and visibility among parliamentarians
Amplify
  • Improved coverage of race equality issues in existing media, with a greater range of sources for information and for case studies
  • New audiences for news and call to action for race equality will have been established and will be maintained and grown through the news platform
Evaluate
  • A final report on impact and the results of the participant survey will be used to inform practice and interventions in the period following the campaign
