Clegg makes speech on race equality

24 November 2011

The deputy prime minister Nick Clegg has given an extensive speech on race equality in the UK, in which he particularly focused on economic inequalities between different ethnic groups.

In particular he announced that the government will be looking into the barriers preventing ethnic minorities from accessing business loans, an issue Runnymede looked as part of its report "Financial Inclusion and Ethnicity".

Clegg’s speech also focused more broadly on race inequality, as well racism in football. You can read the full speech on the cabinet office website.
