The Labour MP David Lammy has been elected as the new chair of the All Party Group on Race and Community, which has just held its AGM. The meeting also featured Equality and Human Rights Commission chair Trevor Phillips as guest speaker.

Baronesses Ece and Whitaker were also elected as new vice-chairs of the group, joining long serving vice-chairs Lord Sheikh and Lord Lester.

At the meeting, Trevor Phillips addressed parliamentarians and attendees, speaking on issues including the importance of an equal economic recovery, in which all groups benefit from the creation of new jobs.
