Arguing the proposition were David Goodhart, founder and editor-at-large of Prospect Magazine, and Dr. Tony Sewell, director of Generating Genius
In opposition were Joseph Harker, assistant comment editor for the Guardian and Afua Hirsch, the Guardian's legal affairs correspondent.
And moderating the teams and the floor's comments was BBC News correspondent and presenter Razia Iqbal
