Runnymede Bulletin shortlisted for a Digital Magazine Award

21 October 2010

The Runnymede Bulletin has been shortlisted for a Digital Magazine Award in the category of Specialist Magazine of the Year.

This is especially exciting as our flagship quarterly magazine has only been available in its newly designed online format since January 2010.

Previously, the 40-year-old publication was a quarterly journal, disseminated primarily within the academic sector.

The Bulletin now has a much wider reach and is viewed and downloaded thousands of times from our website, from which you can now access it for free.

Despite its digital reincarnation, the Runnymede Bulletin has lost none of the authoritative and reliable evidence-based analysis that made it popular and respected as a printed journal. With a focus on race equality, contributors to the magazine include some of the leading academics, politicians and activists in the sector and beyond.

This is the first year that the Digital Magazine Awards will hand out accolades, with an aim "to showcase the best digital magazines and recognise the most influential people in digital publishing today".

The judging panel across the 16 categories include online media heavyweights, such as the executive producer of Microsoft UK and the head of technology for the Telegraph Media Group. Read a full list of the judges here

As a charity, with no commissioning budget for the magazine and all work done in-house, it is flattering to be placed in a category along with for-profit publications with large and established editorial teams.

The Specialist Magazine category includes a particularly mixed bag of finalists, from popstar fanzines to wildlife periodicals. Read the full shortlist here
